Privacy policy

This policy explains how Main Street Beverage Company Pty Ltd, trading as Wallaby Water ("we", "us"), collects, uses and shares your personal information when you visit wallabywater.com.au, shop with us, subscribe, or get in touch.

What we collect

  • Your details: your name, email address, phone number, and delivery and billing addresses, when you place an order, start a subscription, create an account, sign up to our emails or send us an enquiry. If you like, you can also give us your birthday (day and month only) when you sign up to our emails.
  • Your orders: what you buy, when, and how you'd like it delivered.
  • Payments: payments are processed securely by Shopify and our payment providers. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Messages: anything you include when you email us, fill in a form or leave a review.
  • How you use our website: your device and browser, your approximate location (from your IP address), the pages you visit, what you click on and the website or ad that brought you here. This is collected with cookies and similar technology (see below).

How we use it

  • to process, deliver and support your orders and subscriptions
  • to answer your enquiries and handle any returns or complaints
  • to send you emails about our products and news, if you've signed up (every email has an unsubscribe link)
  • to understand how people use our website so we can improve it, and to measure our advertising
  • to prevent fraud and meet our legal obligations

Who we share it with

We only share your information with the businesses that help us run Wallaby, and only what they need:

  • Shopify, which runs our online store, checkout and payments (Shopify's privacy policy)
  • Shippit and our couriers and warehouses, to get your order to you
  • Mailchimp, which sends our emails
  • HubSpot, which manages enquiries sent through our website forms
  • Google, for website analytics and advertising (more below)
  • Judge.me, which collects and displays product reviews

We may also share information where the law requires it, or to protect our legal rights. Some of these providers store information outside Australia, including in the United States.

Analytics and advertising

We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use our website so we can improve it. It uses cookies to collect information such as the pages you visit, the buttons and links you click, your device and browser, your approximate location (from your IP address) and the website or ad that brought you here. If you are signed in to a Google account with ad personalisation turned on, Google may also tell us the age range, gender and interests of our visitors as a group (Google signals). When you are signed in to your Wallaby account, your visits are linked by a customer number; we never send your name, email address or other contact details to Google Analytics.

We use Google Ads to measure our advertising and to show Wallaby ads to people who have visited our site. HubSpot records enquiries made through our forms and the pages visited before them, and Mailchimp records whether our emails are opened and which links are clicked.

You can turn off ad personalisation at myadcenter.google.com, stop Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and unsubscribe from our emails with the link in any email.

Cookies

Cookies are small files saved by your browser. Our store needs some of them to work, for example to keep your cart and get you through checkout. Others help us with analytics and advertising, as described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the site, like the cart, may stop working. We don't change what we collect when a browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal.

Keeping your information

We keep your information only for as long as we need it for the reasons above, or as long as the law requires (for example, tax records). After that, we delete it or remove anything that identifies you.

Your choices and rights

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it's wrong. You can also unsubscribe from our emails at any time.

Questions and complaints

If you have a question about your privacy, or want to make a complaint, contact us:

We'll get back to you as soon as we can. If you're not happy with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example when we change the services we use. The latest version will always be on this page.
